In my artistic work, I deal with questions of value. In doing so, I playfully investigate the context of meaning of objects and materiality. I am particularly interested in objects that reflect human-object-commodity relationships. Through combination and arrangement, I bring these into new contexts and let unusual, poetic connections arise. I work with a wide range of materials: from carpet, ceramics and steel to found objects. Thereby I use an aesthetic of attraction: glitter, shimmering rainbow colors, surfaces like glass or crystal - things that are perceived as beautiful. Yet there is a tension between the attractive exterior and layers of mystery or absurdity. For some years, the material carpet has played a key role in my artistic practice. In my work, this material undergoes a declination through various cultural levels of meaning: from dirt to luxury, from everyday spaces to heterotopic places such as betting shops.
